Mooter
From the very first day of my college journey, one thing has kept me grounded — and that’s my obsession with Moot Court Competitions. I remember my first one, the Fresher's Moot Court, where I had no clue how to even research a case law! Fast forward to now, where I found myself giving a dissenting opinion at the Sir JCB Award Function—and guess what? I won first prize!
Wow, It has been a journey!
Throughout the years, I’ve participated in several Moot Court Competitions, and I’ve picked out my top 3 favorites.
1st ever Winner in the National Moot Court Competition conducted by the Mount Zion Law college - Sep 2024
Runner Up at Dr. Rohini Kanta Barua Memorial National Moot Court Competition - Feb 2024
Runner Up at 1st Virtual Shri Ramswaroop Memorial National Moot Court Competition - May 2023
Why, you ask? Because I gave them my full research commitment (cue the dramatic late-night study sessions), and the invaluable experience of training myself as a better advocate, each time.
Drafter
As a 'Drafter,' I've had the pleasure of working alongside the Joint Director of the Tamil Nadu State Education Department, where I’ve been contributing to an ongoing project that involves legal research and shaping policies for schools across the state.
At S.M.I.L.E.Y India, I dove into drafting policy documents and internal rules that make everything run like clockwork. Over at Think Digital Community, I’ve been into drafting Terms and Conditions and various other legal agreements; ensuring the community operates smoothly and transparently!
My love for drafting started in my first year of college, and it's been my happy place ever since. Honestly, if I could draft all day and night, I probably would. In moot court competitions, drafting is my absolute favorite—it's like writing a really convincing letter, but with more legal jargon and way more at stake!
Joint Secretary in MCA
I’ve been at the Moot Court Association (MCA) since my very first year of college, and I can honestly say—it’s my dream college. And no, not my actual college, but MCA itself! They pick members on merit, with just two people per department. I first joined after winning the Fresher’s Competition, and since then, MCA has been a place where I truly found my path.
MCA has been everything I never knew I needed in law school. I got the chance to participate in way more Moots than I ever thought possible, met mentors who were basically the Yodas of drafting and advocacy, and built a network of alumni and advocates that would make LinkedIn jealous! Hehe. MCA exposed me to everything that truly makes law school more than just lectures—it’s about hands-on experience and learning from the best!
Now, in my fourth year at MCA, I’m still here, motivated by the opportunity to make a lasting impact. From stepping in without a clue to now being part of the core team and working to expand our reach and impact, this journey has been nothing short of incredible.
